Default Magic stick 3 in 5.3?

Can I run a magic stick in a 5.3? Will it be driveable and have decent power? This is going in my 71 2wd Blazer that will only be driven about once a week. If this want work what cam can I use for a rough idle and decent power? I know never pick a cam by sound...

You could, but you would need a big stall & prolly wouldnt be very drivable at low rpm.

Hey cody, thats very similar to your cam.

For a 5.3 in a jacked up heavy blazer, i think that would be way too much cam.

Blazer Im running that cam in a 418CI motor a 5.3 is 325 FYI. You need something like a 212/218 for some torque down low and put a stall in it. With that cam you would have some power up top to spin those heavy tires in mud and the like. That cam is way too big.

I knew I had heard those specs before. Thats the cam I was going to put in my motor but got my Lunati alot cheaper.

This cam is going in my lowered 2wd Blazer (similar to the one below) not the one in my avatar. Would a 218 or 220 cam give me a rough idle?

Abselutely. You wanna keep it around there but no bigger. How much does the blazer weigh and what are your goals?

Im not sure on the weight. I plan on this being something to drive on the weekends and maybe put in a show or two. I will build a 402 or maybe a 427 depending on how the L92 turns out, but that will be next year at the earliest. For now I want a good sounding motor with decent power.

Lots of guys have been making good power and running good times with the TR220 cam with 3000 stall and 4.10 gears. Might wanna look into that.
