Question MAF question

I descreened my maf when I first got my truck. It hasn't thrown any codes yet but has started to idle rough and mileage has gone down slightly. My question is, do I get a new stock maf or buy an aftermarket? Do the aftermarket ones provide the gains they claim?

What part of Nor Cal are you in? I live in Chico right now. As for the MAF the aftermarket ones are about twice the cost of a stock replacement and offer little to no dyno proven HP. Go back to stock.

May be different from mine but here goes. I replaced the MAF and put a cold air kit on at the same time. I could tell a difference. On the rough idle....the dealer replaced the throttle body under warranty and that fixed it. Now that it is over 36K on miles, I will clean the carbon out and that should fix it according to my dealer.
