as&m headers

What's up Brian?
I know I havent been on the board in quite a while, or at least I havent posted in a while.
I have been real busy since getting engaged, trying to find a new job, and get my Honda ready for road racing/a few drag strip passes.
I just had to pay almost $400 for a complete rebuild of my T04 ball bearing turbonetics turbo
, thanks to a blown seal.
Now for Mr. 2001 HD's questions.
Anyway, now about the headers. After installing the headers u will definitely need to have your muffler shop weld them up to your cats. You could probably also have your shop put on a better cross over pipe, but I stuck with the factory one since clearance problems on my dropped truck would be an issue. The guy at the muffler shop felt that the factory crossover pipe looked nasty but that it's flow probably wasnt that bed.
Im not sure what i did with my exhaust pics but I will try and find em.

It would really be cool to see some pictures of your exhaust pipe set-up. I want to keep the rest of the exhaust except replace the muffler. I think it will probably flow pretty good with a better muffler. I don't see many catback listings for RCLB. Everything I see is for EC or CC.
1stupidfly4.8-Maybe someone would trade with you. Are they new? I guess my home state LA. (now stuck in TX) is O.K. for inspection w/o EGR?

Hey dude! Go Spurs Go!
Yea I slow down every time I go through Schertz! I don't race the truck, but would like to hook up with you guys next time there is some kind of get together. At #5300, I couldn't beat a skateboard! No it ain't fast, but I can drive the P1ZZ out of it and it will take it.
I do hang out here quit a bit and really enjoy reading about the performance mods and such. I just want a good sounding exhaust system and maybe the headers with a Nelson tune and something on the intake would help gas milage. But I don't want to jepordize my 100K warranty.
The HD's have a dual in sorta single out. It's dual out, but I've read that the other outlet is blocked off and is there for improved scavanging effect. The two outlets y into a single tailpipe behind the muffler. So the y pipe is the muffler itself. I'm thinking about the Flowmaster 50 Big Block and AS&M headers. It should go right on with OEM exhaust and an added extension to eliminate the behind muffler y pipe.
Sorry about hijacking the thread!

Well the headers made some good gains. I went 13.50 on street tires with an easy launch weighing 200lbs. more than my usual race weight. Removed tailgate and spare on my next run, but some guy carried the water box with him to the starting line right before I ran. I spun , let out , spun more let out, spun again then hooked, but was in second when I should have been in 1st. Horrible run, but I know theres alot more there. I ran a c5 on my way to rent a movie. I stayed right next to him, but had to let out because of traffic. I get back next to him and ask to go again, but he wouldn't run me again.

Sounds good. You'de think having the extra weight (tailgate, spare) on the rear would help it hook-up a little better, but I guess overall weight is an important factor.
If you get a chance, I'd love to see pics of the as&m install, particulaly the crossover, collector and O2 hook-up.

I ll get some pices later, but I don't have a ypipe anymore if that is what you are wanting to look at. I still have the stock crush pipe from the original y, and I had collector with a doughnut gasket welded in so I can remove it for trtanny work. I am sure that I will go to a different exhaust setup as this one is so pieced together its embarassing.
