Any work done on those 243s? I'd plan to flycut the pistons, PTV clearance might be an issue.

It's more so duration numbers that get you into trouble with PTV, and I'd start getting worried with anything above 235 on int or exh side. Just for comparison, the MS3 cam has the exact int/exh duration numbers and Texas speed will tell you it won't fit in stock heads without flycutting. That's also pretty much what everyone on LS1Tech runs into also.

Also, with a cam that big I would really want to work the heads to get as much out of the cam as possible. I have a smaller cam and even I think I'll be leaving a lot of horsepower on the table without at least a CNC job on my 243s.

I plan on getting heads before December . Just time and money but thank you that's Good information so stay around 235 and I won't have any worries . I do have aftermarket pistons in the truck i'll have to check how deep the valve reliefs are .

If you plan on milling the heads that'll come into play also. When I saw your sig about flat top pistons I figured you had the stock bottom end but if you've got dished or relieved pistons that will help. 235 is just a rough ballpark from what I've seen having PTV clearance, don't take that to the bank though. All very easy to check when you've got the heads off however.
