LT1, LS1, etc., etc.......what do I have?? (Newbie Question)

Your talking to someone who doesn't exactly have a clue...I am a little new to GM, but am learning and have already aquired some descent bolt-ons. Now I'd like to be a little more educated
I'm pretty sure the older motors are the LT1, then the more recent are LS1 (LS6 for some I think--Vettes, Camaro, FB).
So what do they call the motors in the latest trucks (4.8, 5.3, & 6.0)???

4.8/5.3/6.0 are the LS1/Gen III fambly.
5.3 is also known as a Vortec 5300. I forget the engine code for it... LM7?

The good old small block, made sense 1955, is the Gen 1. The early vortecs with the center bolt valve covers are like Gen 1.5. The Gen 1's were things like the L88 and L98.
The LT1 and LT4 (which were never installed in a truck) are Gen 2.
The LS1 and LS6(which also were never installed in a truck) are Gen 3.
The LM7 is also a Gen 3. But, by name designation it is not a LS1 per-say. However being Gen 3 based all parts swap.
