Just wondering if anyone has gone to a ls6 cam for a cheap alternative? Wondering if ther gains are worth it or if you lose to much low end for the weight of the truck.

 

I think if u do some more research Ull c its not worth it.. get a used 212/218 if u plan on not runnning a converter... u can find it for around 250 used... IMO ls6 is not worth it.

 

LS6 cams are desirable to forced induction guys so that makes them not all that cheap. Like the dude above me said, you can find better cams for a little more dough.

 

I agree with the above. From all I have read on here and other sites the Ls6 is not a good cam for adding torque down low which is where you would need it in a truck.

 

do not do it! I had one in a scsb with a 4.8 and no stall wasnt worth the time and effort to do the work. The truck pulled pretty good on the top end but that was about it. like everyone else said you can find a way better cam on here for cheep
