Default LS6/4L80e

I'm thinking this is what I want to go with. LS6 long block with the truck accessories, water pump and intake toppings.

Would the truck intake, injectors be enough to feed this monster? If not, what would be my options?

The tranny would be a built 4L80e and I'm thinking this would suffice. What does this group think about this setup?

It's way out in the future before I even attempt this, but I am starting to realistically think about.

Of course, I realize lots of PCM reprogramming would be needed - I think I got that covered.

There is nothing real special about the LS6 block (heads, different story) except for impoved porting for oil. The truck accessoriies would be fine except for 1 bolt on the alternator. But you can still run it with no real problem.

It's actually one bolt on the A/C bracket...I don't remember any problems w/ the alt bracket.

I must have too many things on my mind, lately. Why the hell I am thinking LS6? The 6.0L has basically the same heads and more cubes.

Which, BTW, Car Craft had a writeup on SLP's ZL-402 package. They stroked an LQ4, used LS6 heads and a FAST intake - 580hp 550lbtq. The article is also on the website. you can do a search for "ZL-402" to find it.

In the same issue, they also had an article going over the differences of Gen III V8 heads.
