Default LS2 In a Silverado

I am thinking about installing an LS2 engine (with engine mods) in my 2000 chevy silverado Regular Cab Short bed. I currently have a 4.3L V6. I am trying to create a fast truck. Before I get the new engine though I would like to get a rear end for the truck , so that when I step on the gas both wheels spin. (Bceuase the rear end I have now only allows one to spin) and I don't like that. Thanks and have a good holiday.

sounds like you need a locking rear end. do a search for eaton or detroit lsd or locker. before you dig into that motor swap read up on the forum.

Ditch that V6, you wont regret it. ;-)

I got both my wheels to spin with the same V6 rear end but I recomend you do upgrade.

you'll also need a new Transmission to compliment that LS2!

Get a Detroit TruTrac and you'll be done with the rear end. I agree with ShaneSmith on the transmission. The stock 4L60E will not like the LS2. I'd recommend a level 4 or level 5 transmission from Finish Line Transmissions. They are a sponsor --------------------->
