Default LS2 heads on a 5.3?

My buddy has a 05 gto and he wants to put L92 heads on it and he will almost give me these LS2 heads if I help him build the l92 heads. Any one done this swap, or have opinions?

Which 5.3L do you have? Your CR will drop.

799's/243's have been installed on 5.3's with flattop pistons making 9.9:1 CR. Using them on the standard dished pistons would drop CR to ?

Aren't the heads like 65cc stock? Seems like a recipe for compression loss. The only way it might be worth it is if you had them milled down for compression.

I believe sportside did that and didn't gain hardly anything though.

yes do a search, i found that in a mustang book along with being backed up several times on the net and in other books/magizines. that is BHP not WHP

exactly why same setups and if you play with compression the one with higher cr will have slightly more power

heres one for ya....LQ4 vs LQ9 they are the same motors down to the T minus compression...this is just one example
