I have an LS1 on my engine stand I am planning to rebuild for my Tahoe. I figured the 214/216 .545/.535 113+4 custom Futral grind I had in the 5.3L when it was in the truck will work nicely. Since you plan on towing with it, i would say stay in the 21x duration range, higher lift, moderately tight LSA with a few degrees of advance ground in.

ok so a couple things i need to understand... i get kinda confused on cams. LSA like a 112 vs a 114 is just gonna be idle quality. I know what lift is... but how does the duration affect the powerband characteristics? lets hear it cam guys!

blue flamed... have you thought about going to an ls1? I actually got luck and scored a 5.3 long block minus the intake for 50 bucks. the guy said it had a rod knock and when i pulled it apart it was just a lifter. either way i scored some 3.908 forged pistons on eagle i beams... thats .010 over a stock ls1 should be interesting in the tahoe! ill let you know the closer i get!
