yes, you will need to read all the write ups before proceeding, good luck.

if i can ask a stupid question. why put a ls6 intake on there. wont the lq4 intake work since the flow on the #243 heads are the same as the #317 heads. i only ask because i dont know.

LS6 intake out flows all other STOCK manifolds allowing you to take more advantage of the #243 and #317 heads. Average gains are 10hp across the entire power band.

I plan to prove this wrong on the trucks in about 3 weeks when the truck returns to me.

Truck intake>LS6 intake

Just to correct my comment, average gain is 10hp over the ls1 intake and less over the truck intake, ~6hp.

v8, any reason in particular you don't believe it? Asking because the flow tests I've seen clearly show the LS6 manifold to flow best:

First flow test I've seen:
LS1 Intake
.200 .300 .350 .400 .450 .500 .550 .600
141- 185- 205- 222- 232- 241- 251- 258

Truck Intake
.200 .300 .350 .400 .450 .500 .550 .600
163- 206 -224 -237 -249 -262 -265 -270

LS6/00-02 Intake
.200 .300 .350 .400 .450 .500 .550 .600
166 -211 -229 -244 -257 -269 -277 -283

Second flow test I've seen:
LS1 Int.___70.2_142.6_189.1_203.2_216.5_226.9_235.3_23 8.1_238.1_237.4
LS6 Int.___70.2_144.4_200.0_215.8_227.6_238.1_244.9_25 0.2_256.0_263.0
Truck Int._70.3_143.9_194.4_209.8_220.5_229.2_234.2_237. 7_243.1_248.5

So you're gonna prove that the LQ intake will outflow the LS6?
With the same TB?
No way.

The truck intake works so much better then the ls6 intake on the truck, now on the camaro no way

the ls6 intake may flow better on a dyno Queen, but in real life the truck intake is better for the truck.

you look at bluecajuns time and see gains, well he did go with bigger injectors, asp pulley, bigger converter, higher shift points all to gain .05 in the 1/4 and you think the intake is what did it?

if blue would go back to the truck intake with the same DA the truck intake would kick the ls6's a$$

Only in the low end.

Say what you want about "Dyno-Queens" but nobody's lining up for SOTPmeters. If they are, I got a link to an Ebay auction that takes PayPal.

For all the guys running H/C (myself included) there's plenty of room to build power with a better flowing intake. The trick is to not oversize the cam and sacrifice the torque because bigger aint always better; especially when you're trying to launch 5,000lbs. This point gets F'd up waaaay too much.

If there was an easy conversion to the LS6 intake, I'd do it too and prove it's worth on the dyno and at the track while running my baby cam. But for now, look at my sheet from the day of my H/C swap and try to tell me that my motor wont benefit from getting more flow over 5k.

ps if Bluecajun (or anyone) omly picks up 5/100ths as you've stated after even just a TC, it's a tuning problem- not the intake.
