What about throttle body modifications and stuff like that? Do I need to get it tuned afterward to have it run properly??

You shouldn't need a tune as long as you are using the same size injectors, but it wouldn't hurt anything.

according to the deal they did in that mag--chevy high perf i think--the truck intake pulled down more torque down low than the ls1 or ls6 intake. and flowed not much less than they did with a cam and heads. i was going to do the swap but i figure i need all the torque i can get. i will still think about it. but i want numbers and a write up on it. i think yelo has it on his truck and was going to do a write up on it someday.

If you want to switch over to a LS1 style injector when swapping intakes you need the fuel rail and regulator off a '97 vette. They have a front mount regulator just like the '99-'03 trucks. Then it would just be a matter of splicing the injector connectors in.

Here is some flow numbers I found for the different intakes while attatched to a ported LS1 head. The LS6 should show gains throughout the powerband. Blacksheep on here switched over and had some very nice gains if I remember correctly.

Code:
Intake.200 .300 .350 .400 .450 .500 .550 .600
LS1----141--185--205--222--232--241--251--258
6.0----163--206--224--237--249--262--265--270
LS6----166--211--229--244--257--269--277--283
For the TB to fit part of the alternator bracket needs to be cut off. The water pump can be modified like was mentioned above or a new one can be gotten that has a truck pulley and LS1 style outlet. Nasty N8---> can get one for you, it's a Evans pump. I think the rest of the stuff has been gone over already. Of course there will be some other stuff like PCV and evap stuff that has to be rigged up also.
