Will the LS1 intake fit on a 5.3L? Would it be a worth while mod(more hp?)? Any pics of this done?

In a nutshell, yes, it will fit. There is a very good amount of modification and no advantage with the LS1 intake. Now slap an LS6 intake on it and your making gains.

 

Is F.A.S.T. gonna make that LSX intake for the LM7 like they do for the LS1?? I hear that baby is making some impressive numbers on f-bodies! Its even set up for direct port NOS injeciton. Would be sweet if they did!!

I'm guessing no they won't make a specific model for the trucks. It would cost a ton to make and won't have near the market the Fbody intake does.

If you swap over to an LS1/6 intake now on your truck it would be a simple bolt on to put the LSX on later when it became available.

 

99silver...the LSX intake manifold does fit the LM7 motors. it requires modification though. some of the sheet metal intake manifolds i've seen made would work for the truck probably since they are a bit taller than the LS1 manifolds. but who has 1200-1500 to spend on something with that little of a gain.

 

if i was going to go ahead and make the switch to an LS1/6 style manifold i'd definatly spend the extra money and get an LSx just for the benefits it holds, and not to mention the direct port capabilities. you can use a stock 97 vette fuel rail with it correct?
