LS1 Fans

Alright, i know that this has been discussed several times, but I did search, and just want to clarify my questions that were not answered in the search.
Ok, I have the nelson tune, and would order the new tune and his harness for the fans. I know that is going to be fine. How do the fans mount? Do i need to fab some brackets or do they jsut bolt right up? Is there any problems with running electric fans? I have a optima red top, so hopefully that will help with the lights dimming which i have heard some complaints about.
What else should I know before doing this. Is there a problem with buying used fans? THere is a pretty well known member selling them on another forum.

I bought mine from someone on this site that works at Thunder Racing (right around the corner) I had to make two brackets for the top, and I used a temp control from Pep Boys. I cant say enough good about them. I love them better gas mileage, and more power all for about $150 total.
Good luck, any questions P.M. me I'll be more than happy to help.

alright, i think im gonna order them. he says he already has the brackets made for it, so it just bolts right up. IM also gonna order the nelson harness since i already have his tune, and can just get him to send it to me with the updated tune i need.

I just installed my ls1 fans a little over a week ago. I have not had any problems so far. For the brackets, I just used 2 pieces of flat aluminum, drilled 2 holes in each and mounted it right up. I towed my car (85 T/A) over 400 miles at speeds ranging from 70-90 with the A/C on and it never saw 210*. I also have an Optima Red Top battery with a decent size stereo. I was having the dimming problem before the fans and I can BARELY notice a slight change. I say go for it.

alright, i have a 160 stat in my truck now, and i doubt it ever sees 190. I never tow anything anyway, so i dont think that will be a problem. I guess im gonna go ahead and do it. I mean why not, under 200 bucks with the harness, free up some power, maybe pick up some better milage, cant beat that i guess. I have all the other little bolt ons already, whats one more. Plus since i switched to 22s from 20s my truck is a dog, hopefully my pacesetters, fans, and new muffler will help that out!

To me, it was worth every penny. You could make your own, but this harness is so clean and well thought out...it works awesome and looks factory when you're all done. Real easy install...plug and play.
