Default LS1 Edit vs Custom tune

I'm kinda new to the tune by computer vehicles, and was wondering after
trial and error could I tune my truck the same as if I sent my PCM
to a custom tuner. Does Edit have the same tuning ability as the Pro's use?

Thank you.

I am pretty sure Ls1 edit will work better than any mail order tune, that is if you know what you are doing...

If you know what you're doing when you try to change things then get LS1edit. if you don't know then i'd stick with the tuners. An ex-coworker was on his 5th computer when I left (LT1 with tunercat), the money he saved by doing his own tune disappeared real fast.

You gotta be careful when your flashing your PCM. If your not, you might as well have an extra PCM handy for the "mistakes." I have flashed mine more than I can remember without a problem. It does take some time to learn what to change for the desired effect you are trying to attain with Edit. But if you are going to get heavy into the mods, Edit is a very powerful, versatile tool to have.

Edit is also a bit complicated too, I got the software from 99Silver and it'd take some time to learn it's capacity...
