ls1 cat for a s10
#1
Hey guys, not sure if this is the right place to ask or not. Here it goes.
I have a 99 s10 4cyl as a DD and the cat is currently clogged up. Would the cat off of my 02 ss work as a replacement? Autozone wants $280 for a damn replacement cat for the s10. Little high if you ask me. I figure I have no use for the cats on my SS now a days why not put them to use?
Specifically I am looking for if it would flow enough, inlet and outlet sizes, rear o2 etc.
Any help?

check Magnaflow, they make really good high flow cats. Magnaflow even offers cats with a spot for an o2 sensor. If you want to put the sensor in the pipe instead of the cat (you might be able to, I don't know S-10's very well) you can pay about $80 for one from Jegs. it may be the cheapest way to go.

Get a universal cat with the same size inlet and outlet as the original, cut the original out and weld the new one in. Summit,Jegs and others sell them. Usually less than $100 bucks. Most muffler shops can do this for you also.
