The LS6 cam has no ***** below 3k though.
That was my first choice til I learned that

I would suggest, that anything over stock, at least put some yellow springs in it. you can never be too careful.

Do you have specs on the LS2 and LS6 cams? I thought they were about the same.

'01 LS6 cam is a 207/217 .525/.525 on a 116
'02+ LS6 cam is a 204/218 .551/.547 on a 117.5

LS2 cam is a 200/203 .500/.500 but I've never hunted down the lobe sep angle

Hmm, I never saw this before. Are you saying that the LQ9 has a different cam than the LQ4? Doesn't seem so since the LQ4 rated at 335, LQ9 @ 345.

The higher compression ratio of the LQ9 helps as well.

That's what I'm saying, the only difference I'm aware of is the higher compression on the LQ9. It does seem odd that a 6.0 would have the same cam as a 4.8L

Welcome to mass production. My buddy from work with his crew cab 1500HD was pissed when we looked up the PN of his cam in that 6.0L, even with the 317 heads and all it was the same cam I pulled out of my '01 5.3L.

FWIW there is a guy named Nikolai on gmfullsize. He put an ls1 cam in his old 4.8L silverado about 3 years ago. You may pm him and see what he had to say. He hasn't had the truck for about 3 years now, but I'm sure he remembers.
