Default LS-1 Cam from a vette?

I was looking on e-bay and found a cam from a 1999 ls-1 camaro and one from a LS-1 corvette. What are the specs on these camshafts? Would either of these cams be good for torque in my 2003 5.3? Would they be worth the swap?

I saw that post but I don't think it will give me anything down low. ANd these 2 cams that I found weren't Z06 cams. I'm looking for something with a little less duration and less lift. I want something that will drop in with just bolt ons and run without tuning. I do have a programmer though.

I have the vette cam in a vette motor and it isn't much over the stock 5.3. I think I dropped my 60' about a 1/10th. You would be better off buying a cam that makes more power and has a better LSA to help keep the power down low. You can make all the power you want, but if you can't use it until you are already beat then why do it.

Workinprogress explained it perfectly. I've said it a few times on here already but I tried a factory Z28 cam in my truck and it honest to god wouldn't spin the tires on a wet street! It started pulling hard at around 4 grand but below that it was a dawg. I stuck my factory cam back in there the very next weekend. Probably your best bet is to get one of the smaller aftermarket (comp or crane) cams for an otherwise mostly stock truck. They'll give you a noticable increase with out any programming, valve springs, etc <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
