Default LQ9 price

Was in a local junk yard looking for an axle and they had a LQ9 with 69K miles for 1800 bucks, came off an SS. I really don't have any idea if thats a good price or not. Anyone have any input? It is the complete motor with all accessories etc.

A little high. Make sure it's an LQ9. I've heard stories of people paying the premium for a LQ9 but really got a LQ4 or even worse (5.3/4.8).

1800 isn't a bad price honestly. I still browse ebay and the such for 6.0s and 1500-2000 is what lq9's generally go for. I wouldn't worry too much about higher mileage either. Mine had 75k on it (82k now) and you could still see the cross hatching of the machining in the cylinder bores, very clean inside and runs perfect. It's still my belief though that the LQ4 is the way to go when buying a 6.0; it's cheaper for one, and it also gives you more options, both N/A and FI. Lower compression for FI, and the compression ratio is more compatible with the smaller combustion chambers of most of the ported heads that are made for the f-body's/vettes.

I can get LQ9's and 4's from $650-1200 depending on mileage and they all come with a 1 year warranty, for a hundred bucks more a 3 year warranty.
