Default LQ4 v.s LQ9 Heads. NEW INFO??????

I picked up a copy of a LS1/LS6 Performance book from summit the other day. In the book they claim there is a differents in the heads of the LQ4 and LQ9. The LQ9 heads have higher flowing intake and exhaust ports. The wrighter also claims the exhaust ports are a "Unique D-shape that improves flow"
Is there any ownner of a LQ9 that can conferm this????
And I pray this isn't old info, but if it is sorry.

Is the 035 cast in aluminum too? or is it the Iron cast #?
The book gives two different part numbers for the LQ4 and LQ9, and also has the copression ratio of the LQ4 at 9.4:1 and the LQ9 at 10:1. Also shows pics of the 317 cast just no pics of the ports.

the 035 is aluminum and designated as a LQ9 cylinder head, however, I believe most LQ4 and LQ9's get the 317 casting, as far as I know there is no difference between the 035 and the 317.

FYI, if you look at my WCCH head thread you will see those are the 035 castings, I'll bump it up for ya so you can see?

I don't know what the casting # for the iron heads is....

O.K now we are getting somewere, lol.
moregrip I stole your pic and reposted it here.
You can clearly see the D shape in your new (Great looking) heads.
Next question Does the 317 cast have the same style of exhaust ports?

Damn, what is the dfference in the 035 and the 317 then? You said the 035 came on the LQ9 right? maybe the 035 has smaller chamber volume. (I don't think so thou)

nope 72cc for both. I don't think there is any difference.

the difference, as best I know, is the old cast iron LQ4 heads and any current LQ4/LQ9 heads.
