Default LQ4 bolt-on power!

Hi guys!

I have a crate LQ4 and am going to use it for a '55 chevy project. I am considering using a F-Body FEAD with LS1/LS6 intake. I don't want to go into the engine to do any major changes, because I am not making a full on hot rod. I want to be able to drive it. At the same time, I'd like to acheive around 400 hp with some bolt-ons maybe. Anyboday got any suggestions? I don't have a harness, computer, or any of that yet. Just the longblock. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

i would put the ls6 intake on there(mostly just for looks in a hot rod) but leave the 317 heads that are already with the 6.0. also put a lower duration cam like a 212/218 112 in there and some LT headers and a tune.

Just so happens I have an almost new intake in the classifieds.................

I would look for a truck harness and computer, get a fact shop manual and weed the harness for what you need & don't need then a reprogram should do it. Don't forget your fuel sys too . You need to support 50lbs of fuel pressure safely and a tank return.

Awesome info! I am brand new to gen 3 stuff, so I'll have tons of questions about different aspects. Like the fuel system and where would be a good place for a reprogram. Please keep some info flowin and thanks!

Pulley's, e-fans, build a cold air kit, long tubes, exhaust, tune, intake, 22x cam, and maybe a set of 243 ls2/ls6 heads you can usuallly find them around 450 or just port the ones you have or leave as is.

Are there long tube headers that will work easily with an s-10? (putting my 55.5 on a late model s-10 frame... actually half s-10 and half 72 chevy with truck arm rear suspension)
