Default LQ4/9 no oil pressure !

I just built with a lot of help a .30 6.0. I'm not getting any oil to top end.
right at the oil filter there is a "oil filter bypass pressure valve", Can anyone tell me what this is for? or if it could be why i'm not getting or holding prime? there is nothing in the hole that that valve goes in. the o'ring on the oil pump has been checked and recheck so just trying to single things out before going back into the oil pan. We have also tapped the oil cooler block off and tried to prime I that way with no luck. any thoughts would be great

Did you put the little dumb bell plastic piece in the back of the block?

Think there is a plug in the front of the block. Did you make sure that was still in?

I just bought these, going to give the port on side of the block a boost with 4 or 5 quarts. cross your fingers for me. I hope I can get it to hook up to my garden sprayer to pump this POS full.

Both, I haven't run it for more than 30 seconds 3 times and turned it over with starter more than 3 times with no plugs or fuel.

did you check the o ring on the oil pump pick up to make sure is seated properly or did not tear?
