Default LQ4/4L80E Question

Hey guys I'm building a pre runner I was building a 6.0 from the block up but sold it because I came across a great deal on a 6.0 and 4L80E that runs great with 80K miles. I'm going to put in a cam, pushrods and springs from TSP, new gaskets on the engine, new water pump and a high volume oil pump while the engine is out and I'm going to rebuild the 4L80E.

Can a stock 4L80E handle 400-450HP or should I beef it up a little bit since I'm gonna rebuild it anyways? Also I would appreciate suggestions on some kits. I did a search and the threads I found are from years ago so I just want some recommendations with vendors that are up to date not sure of any of the ones from the threads years ago are still around.

Hope to hear back from you guys.

Thanks

A stock 4l80E is easily up to the task. Easily. If you ARE going to rebuild I would beef it though, why not?

A refresh with a HD2 kit and let it rip.

It won't have a care in the world with 360-400hp you'll be putting down.

Like he said it can do that HP no problem, they'll do 800hp+ all day with the right converter/shift kit and tuning.
