Default lq4

Just want to get ideas from everyone. which would be the best way to build a lq4? Could I possibly put flat top pistons and make it lq9? Should I put carb on it?

replacing with flat tops i wouldnt do. lq4 has 9.4:1 compression and lq9 has 10.03:1. for price of pistons and replacing them would at least be same cost of replacing 317 heads with 243 heads. 243 heads flow slightly better but will increase compression to 10.2:1, higher than lq9. lq4 has dished pistons which help you with ptv clearance especially if using a big cam. i would recommend a tbss or nnbs intake, long tubes, cam depending on goals and rpm you want it to operate on, stall and gears. feel free to pm with any other ?s good luck, rob

Appreciate man I have 243 heads that I port and polished and long tube headers but waiting to put motor in first were I have more room. When I do put motor in I may have to take my drop off
