thanks, that website is definitely a plus, if i select Engine as my choice instead of engine block, what parts should I expect to come with it? Would I be better off building off of a block or just buying the complete motor? I am considering a cam in the future, so is there any way i can build a nice cam only 6.0 for under 3g? I most likely will be running long tubes with true duals out the side or dump, but i definitely want a lot of power out of it to get this 5400 pound beast movin...thanks for the help so far...Also, does anyone make an install kit for the 92-99 body style trucks? Do I need any different mounts or parts, or can I just drop it in? Also will it work with the stock trans from the 96? Since I am in college, I want to either build this motor so that my truck feels fresher, or sell it and buy a new truck...Only problem with the new truck is that it would stay stock, and I really want some power...So is cam-only doable, or should I get a stocker and roll the slow life?

Try and find a complete pullout rfom an 02,01 2500 get everything you can with the motor especially a UNDAMAGED harness and pcm, you should be able to find this for around a 1000 bucks, used cams can be bought all day long on ls1-tech.also the springs and pushrods your gonna need. Also keep in mind your stock trans wont hold up long behind the 6.0 unless you baby it. If youget a pretty good sized cam your also gonna need a stall.Do the work yourself it can probabaly be done for undar 3000. Check out www.ls1truck.com for the swap info.

i am thinking about buying the engine while I am on spring break from college and then just letting it sit in my garage until I figure out my overall budget and parts...I will probably have my local shop do the install because I am gonna be working full time this summer, and this truck is my DD, so I can't have it down for too long...also,I am probably just gonna get a trans cooler and maybe some other small parts to hold the trans over until it explodes, lol...I don't plan to really beat on the truck once the motor is in, I just like to know that the power is on tap for when I finish it...A converter would eventually be installed as well...

are you looking for an entire engine ready to run? I have a long block, complete with water pump and coils that I will make you a HELL of a deal on.

if i can find a complete motor ready to run, i'd take it...what parts would i need to get the long block running? Would it fit on the stock location and mounts, as well as bolting up to the trans in the 96? This motor would be my first build...I plan to put all the parts on myself and then have a shop slide the motor into the bay and hook it up to the trans...
