Its not by any means an easy drop in replacement for your 5.7, they are 2 completely different engines. I don't know if any one makes adapter motor mounts or, not. Someone may. The computer and everything is different, and you will need some other way to control your transmission. There is a lot to a swap like this, computer, wiring harness, accessory's, mounts, programing, ect. If your on a budget, and time constraint, you would probably be better off just finding a small block 383 long block to just swap in. It would be a direct replacement.

A local engine builder would probably be your best bet. You might look for some mail order builders and Summit Racing. A long block is a block, rotating assm, and heads. You would reuse all you intake exhaust and accs, it would just be a rebuilt stroker motor.

what about this kit? http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku
what other parts would I need, and what stock parts could I keep?

Check this out. Patrick did what you are talking about in his truck. Didn't hurt that he was in college for electrical engineering. He definitely did teh job right.

The rotating assm kit looks ok, but I would go with flat top piston (that kit has dished) to keep the compression up since your NA. The cam is pretty mild and would give you good drivability and wouldn't need much tuning I think. Your still going to need some heads though. And you will have to have the block board and prepped for that kit. Your best bet would be to try to find a local builder you could talk to and tell him what your looking for since you seem to have limited knowledge in this stuff. Might save you a lot of money in the long run.
