To lower or not to lower?

If you are going to spend $500 on the hotchkis kit you can strech the extra $180 for some shocks to make it ride right. Summit is the place to get the springs cause they wont rape you on the shipping. Every where else I tried didn't stock the springs and have them shipped directly from Hotchkis which was going to caust my just under 100 bucks. Summit only charged me 12! Plus they have the best price on them anyway. When you get your springs, post up and we can give you some tips on the best way to change them.

DJM!! I have the Calmax Level 1 2/4 drop and it's hands down the best. The Hotchkis (from what I hear) is really stiff but the DJM is pretty comparable to a stock ride with great stability. I have some Edelbrock IAS shocks and I love those too. The only thing I need now is some sway bars and then, watch out corners!
I had a local Les Schwab install the DJM kit and shocks last year. I forget how much it all cost it was somewhere over $550 I think

I will definitely post the info when I get my setup.
I am starting to think about going with the DJM level 1 setup with the Calmax lower control arms, shackles/hangers, and shocks. Its $399 from stylin concepts (or something like that). I saw the add in the latest Sport truck mag.
How would the handling performance be with this DJM setup? I wonder about the quality of the DJM shocks? I also question how well shackles and hangers will help handling performance?

is the western chassis stuff pretty good?
i was thinking 3/4 for a slight rake....
I was very happy with the kit, i did alot of research on it, and for the $$$, it was the best constucted set. My friend had DJM spindles, and they broke on the highway @ 60mph. I have heard of a couple of people have problems with the S10 spindles, so IMO reputation carries through all model line when they make one inferior product. I could be wrong too, maybe now they make superior products. I guess its all preferance.

I've got the 2/4 DJM kit. Installed the A arms as per directions and the alignment was bang on. The rear hang relocation worked good especially for weight transfer. I think the pinion angle did something funny though. I can't do donuts anymore. The front hanger went up 6 in and the rear shackle extended 2 in. Center of gravity is way better. Hotchkis sways front and rear made it really solid. With a small load she bottoms though. I plan on notching the frame to solve that.
