+1, but he will have to add some methanol for the winter months.
Forgot about that haha.

I've got low profile tool box (one that sits inside the bed and sits level with the bed rails), which I only use 50% of, so I'm thinking I might be able to hide some of my setup inside of it and build a box and mount for the pump.
Thats perfect. I'm sure in your area some -20 or -30 degree washer fluid is available. That is about a 50/50 mix if I am remembering correctly. Of course you want to avoid the fancy brands with additives. The simple blue kinds are just water and methanol, and some dye. If you shake it up and it doesn't form suds its generally good to run. So many benefits to water/meth injection other than octane boost also. Lower EGT's which generally lead to lower NOX emissions, cleans your valves and so on. I will run it once I get more into building my truck and am done with my move. Most people think you need crazy boost or high compression for it to be of value but even just for safety and a clean engine I love it.

Well now that I have preached my love of water injection ill get off my soap box haha. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Yup, we only have "Summer" mixed washer fluid for about 3 months out of the year here. The rest of the year they just step up to the hardcore blue stuff. In Spring we can have very warm and nice days, then have it drop to well below freezing at night...so you can never be too safe with ice prevention.

I bought the pieces for my WMI kit a long time ago for my diesel project, as it's an IDI diesel with high compression and turbo. That project went on hiatus for a long time and now I can reuse it for better things The diesel will just get a giant intercooler instead, which it should be happy with for all conditions.

I also second the clean engine part, I usually suck some water through a manifold vacuum line on all my gassers, just to give them a "steam" cleaning from time to time. For real dirty engines of unknown maintenance, I will "steam" clean, then seafoam through the same line, replace plugs and do an oil change. It will usually get an old car running pretty decent after that.

I've been doing some reading on 87 octane tunes and there's a TBSS, 2010 SS Camaro, C6 Vette and some random V6 and V8 Camaro's running around town that have been driving perfectly fine on our crappy gas.

Stuff like this gives me hope, but this is for light cars and small SUV's, plus this is from a professional tuners with a dyno at his disposal and I've had HPTuners for 2 weeks :

Tuned my 05 CTS-V on 87 octane - LS1GTO.com Forums

It's something to think about for people with lighter vehicles who might stumble across this thread sometime, but I still think it's probably not worth it in a 5500lb+ truck.
