No poss way you can carry on a convo on the on the phone. Radio maybe if you have decent system.. I have been there with the Y pipe deal, it was just as bad as having the pipes dump out in front of the pass side tire with a 40 slowmaster.. Always seems when our trucks are stockish that we want loud, drive a bit more aggressive.. Once we get mods, we try to quiet them down some, don't drive quite as hard( at least myself) I vote keep your current, put a cut out on the truck..

my friend has a cutout with stock manifolds and cats and it sounds real nice and deep. mine however with lts and ory screams at wot with the cutout open!

I would only think you would be hassled for the noise. I have a SI-DO dumped Cherry Bomb and Bassani Mids with cats and I feel mine's pretty loud for what it is. I'm not sure why you want to go louder, but that's up to you. Long tubes and an ORY is about as loud as you can get on a stock 5.3.

Can't go wrong with an electric cutout and the muffler of your choice, best of both worlds

Yeah man i can. Its not that loud inside. Girlfriend and all my buddys love the way it sounds. Maybe the NNBS trucks have more insulation? When I pulled up the carpet once there was about 3 layers of crap that equal 3in thick haha
