Default louder exhaust

i have a 2000 silverado with 5.3 motor and my exhaust setup is two high flow cats into a y-pipe that goes out to two 24 inch rolled in exhaust tips. i am running no muffler at this time, and its still not loud enough, if i put headers on, will it increase sound?

yeah should make a big difference. call texas speed to the left =================>
and get the pacesetter long tubes, bolt on no mods necessary. and you can get the off road y to go with it for like 120 bucks. that will get rid of the cat, and if you put headers you will wanna invest in a good tune, mail order or live tune from the sponser to the left ======> wheatley or nelson performance.

doesn't that get kind of annoying after a while driving around with no muffler? i can't believe you want it louder. i would of done electric cut outs instead of no muffler. anyway, i would think adding headers might get it louder since it will be flowing more.

Some like it loud. It's not my cup of tea but to each his own. I think it's rather amusing when I hear a loud truck givin it hell and going nowhere.

or you can jsut cut off your cats, and you will make it louder. I have driven my truck around with out a muffler when I still had the cats(old truck) it wasn't that loud. It was louder with out cats and I had dual muffler and a x pipe. But it sounded so mean too.

haha, well I have been driving straight pipe for a good 6 months or so now. off an on about a yr, haha hated my slowbastard, but its different for trucks, cuz usually we actually move instead of sounding like were doing 80 at 15 like the ricers.

I like a little rumble around town, not enough to attract to much attention. WOT that's another thing, mine goes from a low rumble to ticket me loud with a mash of the go pedal. I had a Fox body mustang with full exhaust, cam etc.. and I got pulled over all the damn time!!! It was just plain loud and got old after awile.

Cut the cats off and it'll be loud......loud and raspy as Hell. Long tubes will give you a little more sound as well. If that's not loud enough throw in a bored out 6.0 with a healthy cam.
