Lots of KR?? HELP!!
#1
I have been fighting this KR for a long time and Im stumped. I have been through about 10 PCMs total throughout my build and I have NEVER been free of the KR. I have never heard the knock and the pugs look good. I spent about 5 hrs today looking for rattles and loose things that may be causing false knock. I currently have two tunes and I get KR in the same areas on both even though onr tune has about 5 deg less timing as the other.
The odd thing is is when I am cruising under very light engine load I will sometimes see KR up to 7 deg. Then under very heavy WOT runs I see none. Then about 5 min later its different. I will see lots of KR under WOT and none while cruising. Its all over the place. Could I have another problem??? Or do I just have overly sensitive KR sensors?

I used to have the same problem its all about the tuning. I started back with the stock tune and even had some kr, GM has it setup to intercept knock even before it occurs so if conditions arent accounted for within your tune it will pull timing thinking its gonna knock even though it is not. Mods will make this even worse.
so next step tuned VE table in SD and good buy knock hello power and better running happy engine. Once the VE table is dialed and all other non-combustion components were tuned to my liking tranny, idle, TM, I moved on to pe enrichment set the rate to 1 and timing adjusted adder tables and base then I moved onto the high and low octane tables. Im still tuning on the setup but after being obsessed with tuners for the past 2 months Im getting the hang of it and understanding. Now I just have to learn how to dial in the maf that thing is a bitch.
Hope this helps

I have AUTOTAP and an LM-1 wideband. I did notice more with the heat but it has been a little better with the Meth. I see a huge spike of KR during tip in especially when it kicks down a gear. It seems to spike and then slowly drop off even when I stay in the throttle.

That strange, Everything has been fine since i put the 02 pcm the last week i started getting this KR problem. About 8* KR. I spent a good half day looking for rattles and loose stuff. I know its false knock because i get it at cruising speeds too. I can desensitize the knock sensors but i would like to find out whats causing it before i do that. Keep us posted because i sure want to know how to get rid of it.
