I don't see why you lost power going to dual as you're FI now. Perhaps it leaned you out too much? Also recall, Flow's sound better than they flow...
I would think that an H would flow better than an X, at least the X pipes that I have seen. It seems to me that the X-pipe chokes down the size, like from dual 2.5" to a single 3" at the X. I was looking at a magnaflow x pipe, but it looked restrictive, so I went with the H.

I didn't think I would loose low end b/c of the blower either, but if you think about it, 90% of your driving you are not in boost, actually the blower takes about a horse to run. I think it woke the truck up at the top end, but my low end out of the hole seems down. I dunno, only the track will tell for sure.

I gained alot of my low end back from running true duals no cats with the x pipe. I di notice a little loss but more then makes up for it on the mid to top end she screams. It's probably those mufflers cutting you back. I really like my setup it's just to loud for alot of people.

Yep, you traded mid-top gains for low end. More exhaust back pressure = better low end torque. Just need to decide what's more important to ya. Every day driving or waxing ricers from the stop lights will reward the low end, drag strip will honor you with more mid-top stuff.
I'm not sure about the exhaust mods you made but the maybe the X-pipe would be a better compromise?

So for those of you with true duals, Do you think you the loss low end is deffenitly made up for on the mid-top end? As for racing an everday driving?

personally I do, I can really feel a nice gain in the midrange around 3k and up that's when my truck really starts to move and breath.

Ah well, off boost...yes you would have lost some lowend power. But as soon as you're on boost the gains should be apparent with the new exhaust.

My WRX has a high flow catless exhaust (3" bellmouth DP) ...it's quite turdy until ~2400rpm when the turbo comes alive then it pulls kickass at WOT or cruising about. When it was stock it was quicker to about 2400 then wheezed out from there.

I'd look into some stall, then worry about lowend later.

I ordered some LT headers from the Other Guys last week. I'm going to install them with a new cat back exhaust. I have a single in dual out flow and am changing to a 3"in/ 3" out magnaflow with 3" piping. I wanted to run true duals like restell but numerous people told me that the LS1 motors like back pressure. But i guess if you have a stall, it doesn't even really matter. As far as the X-pipe I heard that they don't even work on trucks. I explained what an expert had told me and I believed him even though some believe different. He said that an x pipe only works when an x-pipe is placed at an equal distance from the exhaust manifolds or headers. On our trucks, the drivers side travels a longer distance in the y-pipe to the passenger side. The result is that the exhaust from the driver side is moving slower than the passenger side and not really balancing the flow of the exhaust. Hope this makes some kind of sense. I wish someone to do a dyno test to see if an x-pipe is an effective mod.

I find it odd that I GAINED lowend torque with my B&B duals.

The pipes off of the cats are 2.5". The pipes off the muffler are 2.25". Do the 2.25's make THAT much of a difference?

Anything is possible. I am thinking about throwing in a trailblazer torque converter for a cheap stall and see what it does.

Where are you going to get it?
