You sure you used a high volume pump? That usually doesn't mean high pressure. My KaTech high vol pump pressure runs 55-60 cold and drops to around 32-36 psi at idle when warm or at operating temps of 180 - 200 degs. ( I have a 160 deg stat.) I get a solid 41-43 psi when driving normal but the pressure doesn't really increase when I am getting on it. I also had all the oil return and oil feed ports to bearings enlarged and chamfered to help the oil get back to the pan. High volume oil pumps are useful for engines that require more volume (not necessarily with more pressure) More pressure or to much pressure rather causes heat and drag on the engine and could do more harm to bearings than good. All an all, I'm happy with that KaTech. I also run 5w30 Penzoil Ultra Platinum after I broke in the motor. What oil and weight are you using?

I wouldn't go to any full synthetic till after 3000 - 5000 miles. I did use Royal Purple from 10,000 - almost 200,000. No issues. Only thing was that the inside of the motor was coated with a weird film.. Prolly what protected the motor. With today's tight cleareces there is a reason to use 5w-whatever. js.
