I'm pretty sure someone posted on here at one time a link to the Jannetty racing header test. Try googling it, It should come right up. I think you'll be pretty suprised at the results.

Thanks for reminding me of this one.

The larger tubes are a far cry from a mistake on your truck.

That being said I have seen examples where the larger primaries dont work as well. For example the smaller port AFR's with the biggest exhaust valves dont seem to like them as much.

My 6.2 has the 1-3/4" arh primaries with the merge collectors and spikes and I am totally glad I went with that size. My buddy has Kooks 1 7/8" on his 6.2 same mods, tune, everything and I am a faster 0-60. We haven't raced really enough to tell just from a light getting off at work tonight. This topic has been beaten like a red headed stepchild and everyone comes up with different answers and results. What works for some doesn't work for others..and it's as simple as that.

How can anybody make anything but a GENERIC recommendation regarding headers for your truck without knowing your list of current mods, list of future planned mods, and goals for the truck? That's my question.

Thanks, guys.

I now recall studying that Jannetty Racing header thread before I ordered my tubes. I feel better already, LOL!

I totally agree with this. You need to know what the person wants when all is said and done.
6.2 makes this decision a little easier though. I think as far as 1/4 mile times are concerned the small bit of power you may give up off idle will be overshadowed in the long run. The actual difference would be so small though, we're talking 5 HP differences on each end, possibly becomign more exagerated as your build becomes more involved.
