was looking at the new Escalade yesterday
whats up with the intake manifold? looked much different than the current truck or LS2 intake. not sure if it was the 6.2L or not.
anyone got any info on it?
Sidenote: BTW, the interior is freakin pimp! (pictures I have seen don't do it justice)

according to cadillac.com, the new escalade comes with the 6.2L VVT V8. I didnt know they had those in them already, I thought it was the same as the tahoe but I guess not. But that explains why it looked different.

As I understand it, the new Escalade comes equipped with a 6.2l engine code named L92. The head ports look like an un CNC ported LS7. I hope to have some first hand technical data on the heads in a week or two. Maybe a CNC program for them too.
I'm also waiting to see what's available with intake manifolds.

a blurb about the intake manifold:
"We've spent a lot of time talking about intake manifolds during these engine posts, and for good reason - port fuel injection has allowed the development of some pretty radical intake geometry, and as such, intake manifolds may have overtaken cylinder heads as the most critical contributor to an engine's powerband.
Like we've seen on most other engines that are designed for something just short of all-out top-end performance, here we find the barrel-shaped long-runner manifold. There's plenty of plenum volume, and a not-outrageously-large runner cross-section. In other words, this is exactly what we'd expect to see on an engine designed to have a broad powerband that's biased somewhat towards the lower end."
