Looking for muffler advice
I am thinking about changing my stock muffler to an aftermarket one. I will not go with Flowmasters, as I have Long Tubes and a ORY. I was thinking about either the Magnaflow or Corsa, however my options are limited here on the island. I want to keep the stock piping, just change the muffler. Thoughts?
Is there really any gain in HP/Torque changing mufflers or does it just sound better? I know that the engine is an air pump, the better the flow, the more efficient it is. But there is this thing called back pressure. Too much kills HP, too little hurts Torque?
Let me know what ya'll think.

Corsa has their DB series of mufflers where you don't have to buy the whole catback, just the muffler.
Not a huge fan of magnaflow myself. Just changing the muffler shouldn't hurt you, or help you that much.

Ok so I am thinking of running the Magnaflow 11246 to replace my stock muffler. Hopefully the Ebay seller can ship it to me. What are ya'lls thoughts? I see most guys are running either 18-30" mufflers. I am hoping the 18" will sound better and when I am at the track, you can actually hear me warming up the tires! lol

What are you looking to achieve? Do you want it to be louder? Do you want it loud all the time or quiet down low and then opens up when you get into it?
If you just plain want something that sounds mean I'd get a Dynomax Bullet. If you just want it to sound better up top you can never go wrong with magnaflow.

I want to be able to hold a conversation at cruise, then WOT better sound like a bunch of rhinos in a 55 gallon drum trying to get out. I am only replacing the muffler. After the LT's and ORY install, the exhaust got a little louder, but cant tell the truck has a cam in it.
I have even thought about taking the stock muffler and gutting it and welding it back in just for fun. Unfortunately my options on island are limited.
