I'm lookin' to swap my 5.3l with an LS6. Any one know where I can get one?

Why not save your $$, get an LS1 and put a good cam i there....I think all 2003+ LS1's are LS6 block castings..........all your missing is the 243 heads. But really, an LS6 is going to run you 30-40% more out of the box.

Is there anything special needed with an lq9 for the swap, or are they pretty well plug n play?

Plug and play, you just need to get the PCM tuned for the 6.0, which you'd need to do for any engine size upgrade.
