I personally like designed, tuned, and tested baffled and chambered mufflers that are tuned for the vehicle. Thats what helps keep the resonance down, along with being double wrapped and fully welded.
Now, I don't like Flomaster's either, just because they seem to rust out faster than other mufflers, and everyone just buys the universal version with regular OE style bent tubing from a crappy muff shop. They sound terrible when the RPMs drop back to idle quickly, and you can pretty much bet there is ZERO HP gains when used with OE bent tubes and a universal Flo muff.
Thats my take on the muffler issue.

I love my pacesetters, and side by side compared to the hooker longtubes on my dune buggy they're of the same quality of fabrication. the ceramic coating that pacesetter does is very nice and doesn't chip easily. fitment was good on my truck, and their offroad y is nice too. I wouldn't waste money on high-flow cats, unless you "have" to have cats to pass emissions. I run LT's and a modded offroad y with stock cats dumped under my cab. link in sig has some audio of the longtubes, sounds pretty good IMO. lemme post some pix too so yall can get an idea of what's under there.

basically I installed the longtubes, then installed the ORY and figured out from there how to modify it to keep my stock cats and be in compliance with warranty and emissions. I chopped the ORY right after the x-member before it went to a Y, then I welded the cats inline with the ORY. I ran a super 40 series for a little bit with all of that, but I wanted it a little louder and also I took it to the track the next week

btw, please dont use the u-bolts that come with the ORY, they're ghetto as hell and they'll crimp the exhaust tubing. i used the dynomax stainless band clamps to clamp the ORY to the headers. they work awesome and I have no leaks. after they're run and the bands get pretty hot (they'll turn that faint yellowish color) re torque the bolts to ensure tightness.
