Default A little differant 5.3 cam question

Looking for some cam input for a 5.3 I just bought guy said its a 05 its got 706 heads dish pistons and its going in a 1955 bel air with a 4 speed 3.73 gears 3500ish pounds. I plan to port the heads a little and mainly just cruise the car with a little drag racing now and then.

How much stall you gonna run?
Tsp 220r would be a good cam for your cruise/race style but it will need a stall

^^ depends on what stall you want to run like grey said, if you don't want to run one, get the comp xr259hr baby cam its real torquey, sounds great, and you don't need a converter.

212/218 is a excellent cam I preferred that over the 220

If that reads 4speed manual, I don't think he'll need stall

I think that the 220 is probably a good choice. I assume you want a lot of that classic muscle car sound. If not then the 212/218 would be a good choice. Definitely noticeable at idle, but not as noticeable. What exhaust will you have on there? If you will have stock manifolds then the cam choice will have to change.

4 speed manual with 3/4 length headers ,flowmaster 40's, 44's or someother free flowing muffler and a big lope is fine with me
