Default The Little 4.8 That Could. 488 Rwhp On The Dyno!

HOW FAR CAN THE 4.8 GO? I am pretty sure I found out this past weekend. Tigerfan187 & myself made a trip to the dyno just to see where we were at. I ended up making a couple of difeerent passes with different shots of the gas, here is how the ended up.

the truck makes about 300 rwhp (294) @ 6300 rpms on straight motor with pump gas & 34 degrees of timing

100 wet tnt shot made 390rwhp & 410 ftlbs of torque
100 wet tnt with 70(.42jet) nos dry made 443 rwhp & about the same amount of torque
100 wet tnt with a 120 nos dry made 488 RWHP WITH 22 DEGREES OF TIMING ON STRAIGHT PUMP GAS, NO DETONATION!

Ther is one draw back, I melted 5 of my tr6's the other three were fuel fouled severly. I replaced the spark plugs & everything is fine now but it fu*&ed them up pretty bad.

Has anyone sprayed more! who has the highest 4.8 dyno numbers?

Why were you running both a dry and a wet?

Have you taken a look, with a bore scope in the cylinders where the burned plugs were? When i was running a dry shot on a 4.8 i burned 3,5&7 plugs. I put in a set of new plugs in it and it ran fine. just for the heck of it i pulled them back out and found that i had burned the top of #5 & 7 pistons. #5 had light speckling and #7 had burned the outter part of the piston to the top ring.

why not? I originally pieced together the dry system, came across a deal on the wet, so i decided to two stage it, the dry shot is a hole shot wich is a 70 hp, then I hit the wet. It dropped me to 12.75 from 13.31
