if you abuse it get ya nice 4l65e from a good reputabul (sp) builder like Jags or FLP there are others as well oh and dont forget about the weak G80 will need to be repaced as well. These trucks are alota fun with a Radix. Traction is a big issue though.

Just a stock 5.3 and a radix will shred your 60. Welcome to the addiction. Since your gonna do a trans build, get a tt3000, since your gonna get tt3000, get a cam, since your gonna get a cam, get some heads, exhaust, cutouts, alky injection...blah blah blah...broke$. hehehehehehe...damn this is fun!

To answer your question directly.
Yes you can hit 12s with just the LS1 swap and no Radix IF you do a decent cam and have all the HP supporting mods like long tube headers, exhaust, fuel and tuning. From there you'll need a decent sized stall, traction aids like Caltracs and sticky tires. It's actually a pretty easy recipe to follow on a lightweight truck. If you have a bunch of crap like running boards, bed cover, huge stereo, vent shades and Yosimite Sam mud flaps etc etc then your goal wil be harder to reach.
For an all out N/A beast on a light truck I would opt for a 3500stall for the best in performance and drivability. The TT3000 is too small fro an all out N/A effort. 3500 really isn't all that big and after a couple days of driving you'll forget it's even there.
