All this talk about the LS7 rockers made me wonder if I could find a cheep set of rockers instead of getting a cam. It would be an easier install!
So if I have a stock cam 5.3L I would have:
Stock ? lets say
1.7 = 204/218 555/551 LSA117 I know ths is not stock specs
1.8 = 216/231 588/584 LSA117
1.85= 222/238 604/600 LSA117
Is this right?
Would I need a new tune and would it be worth it? I just want to know if I am understanding this right.
Also what is the stock specs on a 2002 LM7 Cam?

No...with higher ratio rockers only the lift changes on the cam, the duration...for all intents and purposes worth speaking of....doesn't change at all (it DOES change...but not enough to measure without a micrometer)

Yea Yea, this would be good info to know. I know how to determine the lift on different ratios but Im not sure how to determine the change in duration. If anybody knows the formula or anything, lemme know. I dont mean to hijack your post. sorry.
But if i were you, i would get a tune. I think the change in lift and duration would cause a few problems on the stock tune. Dont quote me on it though.

Since the LS7 rocker didn't pan out, the cheapest 1.8 rocker I've seen are Harland Sharp non-adjustables, and they cost as much as a cam does. Don't forget that even with just 1.8 rockers you will need new valve springs as the stockers are barely up to task for the stock cam. Right there you are almost at the cost of a cam swap.
Yes, the install is more involved, but C'mon, you were the first to replace a 4L60E with a T-56, you can't be scared of a cam swap!

Jesel shafts or Yella Terras are the only rockers worth the cash or trouble. Adjustable rockers are a pain in the nads!! Just toss in a cam man. Yoll be alot happier with the end result!!

As far as the 1.8:1 rockers go, I dont understand why people a lot of the time think they need them. Id stay with as close to a stock ratio as I could. DO you have actual flow numbers from your head showing that there is flow potential at the higher lift?
If you want more lift, buy a bigger cam is my theory. But Im all wierd like that I guess
