Smile Day 1

GAWD! I hate you guys.
ok, We started by prepping the newer engine. I got the rod bolts in, the old cam out, the new cam in, and the new oil pump in. Figured out there were no valve stem seals in my spring "kit" so had to get them ordered for tomorrow. Got the rockers off, pulled the pushrods and covered the heads back up. Put the truck on a lift. Pulled the exhaust, unbolted the starter, took out the TC bolts, the tranny support, and loosened all the tranny bellhousing bolts and disconnected the wiring harness. Tomorrow we hope to get the tranny dropped, springs in, and engine pulled. Then we'll see where we are on time. This is gonna run into the weekend.....dammit. Today was slow paced but I feel we got alot of the little stuff knocked out so we can get to the bigger stuff.

Don't forget to pin that crank before you put the engine in.

Are you at the auto hobby shop on base?

The one here at langley sucks all of our equipment is broken, and the in house mechanics are asses.

Slow progress is still progress. Got to admit it looks like fun.

The pin kit will be done while on the stand for sure. I brought my own engine stand but I am using the base hobby shop. The tools are pretty beat up but I brought a lot of my own. The guys who work there are the **** and will answer or look up just about anything you ask. We spent 2 hours today tracking down gaskets and getting lunch and I had to leave about 2 hours early. Tomorrow I will be there from 9-8. So I hope to get a majority done.
