You can do the cam stuff yourself like blown said go to ls1howto and the article on the cam swap is step by step no joke if you have never even looked at an engine you could do it using there instructions. Props to whoever did the write up it is very nice

Installing a cam into a motor on a stand....I'm jealous! I had to lean over mine for, well, let's not talk about how long my cam swap took. Let's just say that doing one outside of the vehicle should be very easy.

Lingenfelter thinks I should go with the GT-7 208/230 .550 120lsa. Sounds pretty tame to me but I dont know that much about cams. Tim told me that this is the one they put in their blower trucks and the GT2-3 wasn't really a blower cam. Hmmmmm....dont a bunch of the radix guys on here run a GT2-3?
I hate cams.

BC, Please let me know if you get a different answer from Lingenfelter.
Does anybody know if the Tahoe is offered in a 6.0? I know the Yukon Denali gets one but was it even an option on Tahoes? I don't think I've heard about a Tahoe with a 6L, not from the factory anyway.
