Bad news dudes. I'm about 98% sure that the pieces are from the bottom of the LS7 lifters. Pics to come tomorrow evening. Someone gave me a LS7 lifter to compare and the concentric rings on the one piece look to be a perfect match to the bottom of a LS7 lifter around the roller area. Looks like a teardown is in order. Time for a set of these.......

And a new shiny cam. My 243's and current cam will be for sale (assuming it suvived). Stay tooned for pics tomorrow evening

Pour some of the oil (assuming you kept a sample) through a coffee filter and see what you get. If you've had a good bit of contamination since this happened the oil will look like caramel ice cream topping when poured. Any time something like this happens I always recommend inspecting/replacing the oil pump, flush the lubrication system well, and inspect the rod and main bearings... While you're there check the crank for excessive thrust problems. Just things to look at/for
good luck with it...

I cut the filter open and it's clean as can be. I also poured the oil through a facemask to see if I could strain anything out and it was clean as well. I think I'm at the very early stages of a lifter failing. I'm not worried about metal contamination, everything else is too clean and the motor runs too well. Oil pressure is fantabulous too. I also saved a 30cc sample of the oil to send into blackstone. We'll see how it goes
