make a set of jumper leads. and unplug the cycling switch, and just insert the leads into the switch connector. cycling switch is at passenger side firewall, on accumulator. i have some made up jumpers, you could use a paper clip if you wanted. just dont spread terminals

Found the problem though. It was the belt. I looked at it last night when I got to work, but never reached down and grabed it. Wel this morning, I reached down to check tension and it was broken. Somehow it managed to stay wraped around the pullies holding on with a few threads. I just bought that sucker to a month or so ago. I'll put the spare on and head back to O'Rieliys for my free one.

I just fixed my mom's 2000 Z-71, had same problem. I recently replaced the A/C contol panel and the a/c was working fine. I drove it a few days later and all it would do was blow warm air. I found out that the belt had broken off and so I had to replace it. It works great now.
