when you go to get a filter, and they ask what engine size you have, just say that it's for a 6.0. They'll give you the "longer" filter.

4.3, 4.8, 5.3 all call for the short filter size

so same year . . . just say that you have a 6.0

I use an EaO64 which crosses over to the PH 59 I think. It is definitely longer than the EaO32 and much easier to get a filter wrench on. It has the anti-drain back valve as well.

Yep.

Amsoil Ea064
K&N HP-2006

Those are the two "long" filters that I use exclusively. Both are high quality filters...pricy however you get what you pay for.

not really... these aren't high precision Nextel Cup engines we're dealing with here... and even those engines don't run "pricy" filters... lots will have either a fram or wix on them... just sayin...

you wont find them running a 3.99 fram extra guard filter though. They run the higher end line of fram which is similar to the K&N and AMSoil filter

they run the one with the lowest restriction to protection ratio, whichever one that is, rather it costs $.01 or $100

I put over 100k of the hardest miles imaginable on the original motor in my previous truck, nitrous, over revs, big cams, 6500rpm shifts, banging the revlimiter, running 130+ down the highway for miles at a time... all the time using mobil 1 15/50 and the absolute cheapest oil filter I could find (pennziol filter from kwik kar) and that motor looked like something God himself had built when it came apart. if you take care of the stuff, change it when it needs to be changed, and maintain it properly, you'll be just fine... don't get caught up in "this is better than that" it usually isn't.

Mobil 1 filter is good but the K&N is garbage.
