Default L76-L92 questions?

I just got the lattest issue of GMHTP. They had a test on the LS2 with the L92 heads and 2 different intakes, the L76 and a carb style intake with injector bosses. Livernois motorsports did the testing with their stage 2 cam(not shure of the specs off the top of my head). The heads flow amazingly well for GM castings. Only draw back is they dont work with any engine under a 4.00 inch bore because of the design of the chamber. These heads are on the Denalis and Cadilacs 6.2L. Just wondering about the intake set up on the 6.2 liters? For everyone doing the LS car intakes maybe that intake is set up to work with trucks and cars. Or maybe the accessory system is totally different on the 6.2's? This may be something to look into if you want to do a intake swap. Also wondering if the intake will fit on the smaller bore engines?(the port size and design may be way off) They tested the intake to pull right to 7000rpms. The carb style made numbers higher in the rpms making it better for racing. Livernois is going to make an adapter of some kind to work with the carb intake. They used a prototype for the testing. The heads will only work with those intakes or until some aftermaket one comes out. Those heads are said to flow as much as the cnc ported ones on the market as they sit and are based on the LS7 heads. Maybe after i get my headers on tomorrow i might stop by the GMC or Cadie dealer to check out the engine set up. When I build my 6.0L i might buy those heads considering you can get some for under a grand assembled. Anyone know anything or have experiance working with these?

Ive been reading alot on them even though they have larger ports seem to make great power all over the place from 1200-6200 rpm they flow over 300@.500 and up (stock) initial cnc programs are getting 360+ but Im sure the intake runner size when ported is around 250. Ive been thinking of a new engine this year and you can get the heads/intake/90mm tb/rails for 1500 brand new thats an unreal price for the performance you get. You cant use that intake on lsx heads

I would wait a while for the cam choice though Im pritty sure those heads/intake are gonna respond to a different style cam then the normal lsx heads/intake do. Looks like they might like alot bigger exhaust bias duration since they are around a 65-70% head, the exhaust ports look small in comparison to the intake but I think gm did that on purpose for truck use porting should fix that.

Richiard has been on the ball with those heads and I hope he jumps in especially if Im off on any of my musings.

I bet your setup will run very well but it aint going to help any of us out a damn bit since you wont be able to cough up the main ingredient to make the whole package work.

Great issue, just got it! Would you be able to use the intake off of the escalade on our trucks or would you have to get the L76?

The only reason to use a L76 intake is to install the L92 heads in an F body Camaro or Firebird as the L92 truck intake that fits the L92 heads will NOT fit under the hood.
The L76 is an intake that is allready in use in Holden cras that allready use the L92 heads in Austrailia.

To install the L92 heads on a 6.0 LQ9 or LQ4 truck engine in a truck, you can use teh L92 truck intake if you wish.

So yes you can usethe intake off of a 6.2L Escalade.
