Default L-tube header install question nnbs "08

For those that installed their l-tubes with the y did you have to drop the transmission brace to do the install? Also is is ok to run l-tubes with out a tune until I get the $$ for it? Or should I just wait?
Thanks,
Lar

Thanks for the replies. I forgot to mention that I already have the headers. They are the dynatech headers(jet hot coated) with their high flow cat y pipe. They will be connected to a corsa touring cat back. I really would like to install them but I don't want the truck running like the stuff that goes in the toilet for a month or so.

thanks again,
lar
