So I've go a set of kooks LT's coming for my truck. Now I need to get a set of catted mid pipes.

I'm in NJ and it needs to pass their two speed idle test (HD truck higher gvw)

Do I have to spend the money on the green cats #28523300

Or can I get their race catted mid pipe #28523200 and still pass emissions?

Truck is in Sig, 2006 Chevy 2500hd LQ4, Magancharger...

Kooks has let me down many times. Be careful about any promises they make.

 

Go with the green cats. Very few race cats will pass anything other than a visual inspection.

 

I've got two vehicles with Kooks longtubes and catted mids. At inspection time, they do a visual for the cats, make sure they are no check engine lights, and plug into the OBDII to make sure codes haven't been cleared lately. The only vehicles I've seen getting tailpipes sniffed are pre-OBD. I've sailed through several times with each vehicle no problem.
